A floodlight is a light bulb that is designed to cast light over a wide area, like LED flood light. This type of light can work both indoors and outdoors for a variety of purposes, ranging from sporting events to interior accent lighting. LED Floodlight
The LED floodlight uses light emitting diodes (LEDs) instead of exciting filaments or gasses to produce light. These lights pass electric current through a semiconductor material to produce light. LED tube lights can bedimmed to a certain extent, and they are very efficient and energy saving .Compared to other flood lights, LED floodlights' electricity costs are lower. They are good for environment but generally more expensive than any other type, though the cost of LED bulbs has decreased as they have become more widespread. Luckily, with the development of the lighting technology, the quality of Led lights is more and more higher. In other words, they are so good in quality that you don't need to relace bulbs constantly, to some extent, it can save your budget.
Incandescent
The incandescent light bulb is common in people's life. These lights bulbs have a filament inside that heats up when electronic current is passed through it. They make up about 85 percent of the light bulbs which are used in households, according to the Department of Energy. This kind of light is lower in price but short time in lifespan. That's why it is more popular at the present. Like other bulb types, incandescent floodlights have a wide variety of sizes and wattage ranges, and can be found in indoor and outdoor settings. Some incandescent flood lights serve outdoor applications well, where direct exposure to the elements is needed. Outdoor incandescent floods can be dimmed when desired.
Halogen
Like incandescent, halogen lights also emit light by passing an electric current through a filament, though somewhat differently than an incandescent bulb. Halogen bulbs utilize a filament that is encased in quartz and surrounded by a halogen gas that protects the filament longer and allows the light a longer useful lifetime, as well as producing more light. Halogen floodlights can be used both indoors and outdoors, and can also be dimmed. These lights produce much more heat than incandescent bulbs, so you must take measures to ensure they do not pose a fire danger. They are surely penetrating, so they can be used widely in airport, station and so on. But they have neither a very long life nor friendly to the environment.
Fluorescent
Fluorescent bulbs operate differently than incandescent and halogen bulbs. Instead of heating a filament, a fluorescent light uses electric current to excite gasses within the bulbs. With compact fluorescent bulbs widely available on the lighting market, these lights are more efficient than incandescent and halogen lights. Unlike incandescent and halogens, fluorescent lights cannot be dimmed, though they are much cooler. Compact fluorescent floodlights use about 75 percent less energy than their filament-based counterparts. Fluorescent bulb is not environmental friendly.
In the future, it is certain that more LED floodlights are widely used, and it has a great reputation on the market. While incandescent and fluorescent light would be out of the fashion with the LED tube lighting technology' development.
